Shift Solenoid “A”

What does this mean?

OBD2 Code P0750 GM definition:
Shift solenoid valve A is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position.

Symptoms

Possible sumptoms of OBD code P0750 GM
– Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) – Transmission will not shift gears.

Causes

Possible causes of OBD code P0750 GM
– Low transmission fluid level – Dirty transmission fluid – Faulty shift solenoid A valve – Shift solenoid A valve harness or connectors – Shift solenoid A valve circuit is open or shorted The Error code is generally activated on detection of the following conditions: The P0750 GM code is detected when TCM detects an improper voltage drop when it tries to operate the solenoid valve.
