DSC continuous operation fault
What does this mean?
OBD2 Code C1194 Mazda definition:
? The PCM receives DSC operation signals from DSC CM while the engine switch is turned to the ON position. If the PCM receives DSC operation signals for longer than the specified time, the PCM determines that the DSC is operating continuously. Note ? The DSC CM stops operating itself for protection heat to the solenoid and/or motor (built in DSC HU) if the DSC operates for a long time.
Causes
Possible causes of OBD code C1194 Mazda
? Communication error between DSC CM and PCM ? DSC CM does not determine vehicle conditions correctly. ¨D DSC CM malfunction ¨D DSC related sensor malfunction ? The vehicle runs under the road conditions in which DSC operates for a long time. ? PCM malfunction

INSPECT IF MALFUNCTI MazdaON IS IN ABS WHEEL SPEED SIGNALS OR ELSEWHERE
???Access the following ABS wheel speed sensor (DSC) related PIDs using the M-MDS.
???Drive the vehicle on a straight and flat road.
???Are there almost the same as the PIDs value of four wheels?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Inspect the ABS wheel speed sensor, sensor rotor and related wiring harnesses.
Service as necessary.
Then go to Step 7.

INSPECT IF MALFUNCTI MazdaON IS IN COMBI MazdaNED SENSOR SIGNALS OR ELSEWHERE
???Access the following combined sensors (DSC) related PIDs using the M-MDS.
???Drive the vehicle on a straight and flat road.
???Are the PIDs values of each combined sensor signal correct?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the combined sensor and related wiring harnesses.
Service as necessary.
Then go to Step 7.

INSPECT WHERE MALFUNCTI MazdaON IS IN STEERING ANGLE SIGNAL OR ELSEWHERE
???Access the following steering angle sensor (DSC) related PID using the M-MDS.
???Drive the vehicle on a straight and flat road.
???Is the PID value correct?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the steering angle sensor and related wiring harnesses.
Service if necessary.
Then go to the next step.

???Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
???Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.

???Is the same DTC present?
